			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Lorcan Twomey</strong> is a professional health practitioner work from Dublin. Lorcan has a long history in fitness from becoming a qualified gym instructor to personal trainer to management of some of the biggest gym in Dublin.</p>
<p>He is a graduate from the <strong>Institute of Physical Therapy and Applied Science Ireland</strong>, Specialising in <a title="massage" href="http://www.lorcantwomey.com/therapeutic-massage/">massage therapy</a> and <a title="sports injury prevention" href="http://www.lorcantwomey.com/sports-massage/">soft tissue injuries and prevention</a>.</p>
<p>He has also specialised in Neurostructural integration technique (advanced <a title="bowen therapy" href="http://www.lorcantwomey.com/bowen-nst/">Bowen therapy)</a> from the <strong>international institute of applied health services</strong> and is also a graduate from <strong>ITEC/DLAC</strong> centre in <a title="sports electro therapy" href="http://www.lorcantwomey.com/sports-electro-therapy/">Sports Electro Therapy </a>being proficient in over ten different types of electro therapy.</p>
<p>For the past 5 years Lorcan has been a professional health practitioner working from a clinic in Dublin specialising in Pain Releif and Sports injuries. Before that he worked at the national multiple sclerosis and rehabilitation care centre at Bushy Park Road, Rathgar. As well as maintaining the personal training services.</p>
<p>Over the years Lorcan has obtained a wide range of fitness and health qualifications. Starting in 1995 at the National College of Exercise and Health studies becoming a personal trainer and gym manager.</p>
<p>He then went on to the <strong>Institute of Applied Health Services</strong> &#8211; <strong>Advanced Bowen NST Therapy</strong> and the<strong> National Training Authority NTA/Irish Training and Education Centre ITEC</strong> -<a title="sports electro therapy" href="http://www.lorcantwomey.com/sports-electro-therapy/">Sports electro Therapy</a>.</p>
<p>Lorcan has a keen interest in the<strong> latest health and fitness treatments</strong> and frequently examines new therapies that enter the country each year. If these new therapies are of benefit to his patients and to himself as a health practitioner Lorcan will undertake the new training.</p>
<p>Lorcan Twomey went to blackrock college, Blackrock Co. Dublin. He then went on to the <strong>marketing Institute of Ireland (MII) </strong>where he studied, marketing, strategic management and statistical analysis.</p>
<p>Since Lorcan played and has a keen interest in all sports like Rugby, Basketball, Tennis, Squash and golf, While still studying in the marketing institute he used all of his spare time obtaining a separate qualification at the <strong>national college of exercise and health studies (NCEHS)</strong> where he obtained skills in <strong>(CEAFF)</strong></p>

<p>Since he obtained his qualifications in 1996 Lorcan has worked and managed some of the biggest Gyms in the country including <strong><a title="westwood" href="http://www.westwood.ie" target="_blank">Westwood Health Club</a> </strong>in Leopardstown Dublin and <strong>Orwell Squash and Leisure </strong>in Rathgar Dublin, Continuing the General Running and management of the Gym while still offering personnel training services.</p>
<p>In 1998 Lorcan went on to study at the<strong> Institute of Physical Therapy and Applied Science </strong>where he obtained skills such as -</p>

<p>While In the institute he obtained another skill from<strong> Chicago School of Sports Massage Therapy</strong> founded by Robert k King a professional athlete and champion body builder from Chicago, obtaining new and exciting techniques for the <strong>release and prevention of</strong> -</p>

<li>Muscle soreness.</li>
<li>Injury prevention.</li>
<li>Cranial release therapy.</li>
<li>Muscle strengthening.</li>
</ul>
<p>Lorcan has worked in the <a title="ms society" href="http://www.ms-society.ie" target="_blank">multiple sclerosis center </a>in Rathgar, he also obtained a very affective and valuable skill in <strong>advanced Bowen therapy</strong> from the <strong>International Institute of Applied Health Services</strong>, a technique device by an Australian Osteopath called Tom Bowen.</p>
<p>It is said to be one of the worlds leading techniques in structural alignment and body rejuvenation. It is very effective in a wide range of injuries from back, neck, knee pain to frozen shoulder to sports injuries.</p>
<p>Lorcan is also qualified in <a title="sports electro therapy" href="http://www.lorcantwomey.com/sports-electro-therapy/"><strong>Sports Electro Therapy </strong></a>using techniques such as Ultra sound, Interferential and (T.E.N.S). Transcutaneous Nerve Stimulation.</p>
<p>These are the most commonly used form of therapy for structural pain and sport injuries, In that it greatly reduces swelling, increases recover time and strengthens the weakened muscles. It also reduces the reoccurrence of injury.</p>
<p>Since starting up in the 1999 / 2000 Lorcan concentrates on the most effective types of therapy being<strong> <a title="sports electro therapy" href="http://www.lorcantwomey.com/sports-electro-therapy/">Sports Electro Therapy</a>, <a title="bowen therapy" href="http://www.lorcantwomey.com/bowen-nst/">Bowen NST</a> and <a title="manual therapy" href="http://www.lorcantwomey.com/manual-therapy/">Manual Therapy</a> &amp; <a title="met" href="http://www.lorcantwomey.com/category/more-about-manual-therapy/">Muscle Energy techniques</a>.</strong></p>
<p>Through the Internet Lorcan keeps a keen eye on the most effective therapies and techniques that are entering the counrty and evaluating the benefits that they would be for his patients.</p>
